👋🏾 Hey, I’m Josie

‍ Josie Hunter (she/her) is a Black writer from the Washington, DC metropolitan area. A graduate of Stevenson University, some of her short stories and poetry have appeared in their online magazine, The Greenspring Review (GSR), where she also won First Prize in Fiction for their 2020 COVID Creative Contest. In 2024, she was a quarterfinalist in the New York International Screenplay Awards. Her latest short story “The Errand” was published in HOMIES magazine issue #1 in August 2025.

‍She writes a newsletter where she shares behind-the-scenes updates, news, lessons, reflections on writing, fiction, publishing, and creativity, and more! Josie also runs a free Book Matchmaking service where she curates personalized fiction reading lists for people based on their answers to her form.
