Josie Hunter (she/her) is a Black writer from the DC, Maryland, Virginia metropolitan area. A graduate of Stevenson University, her short stories and poetry have appeared in their online magazine, The Greenspring Review, where she also won First Prize in Fiction for their 2020 COVID Creative Contest. In 2024, she was a quarterfinalist in the New York International Screenplay Awards.

She shares reflections on writing, fiction, publishing, and creativity in her bi-weekly Substack newsletter called Notes from a Work-in-Progress Writer. Josie also runs a free Book Matchmaking service where she curates personalized reading lists for people based on their answers to her form.
